iPhone 4 Review
Review of iPhone 4
When Apple`s iPhone 4 launched in mid-2010 many mobile enthusiasts believed that they had got the new handset sussed. Leaks and misplaced prototypes meant that its details were largely known, but few were prepared for the popularity and the technical problems which defined the early days after its release.
It has had some time to mature, so is the iPhone 4 worth buying?
The hardware of the iPhone 4 is still one of its assets and perhaps something that consumers overlook as they indulge in its software delights. With tough glass on the front and rear combined with a metallic ring encircling its outer edge and acting as an antenna, this is one handsome handset. Things are equally impressive on the inside, where an A4 processor and 512 MB of RAM are available to make it slicker and more powerful than any of its predecessors. You can pick between a 16GB or 32GB version, depending on your budget and how much storage space you require.
The iPhone 4 is the first in the range to actually feature a class-leading camera. Gone is the 3.2 megapixel snapper of the 3GS in favour of a five megapixel powerhouse with an LED flash to make sure it can be used in any condition. As well as having solid still capture capabilities the iPhone 4 can record high definition video in 720p. You can then edit this on the phone and share it with your friends with ease.
On the front of the iPhone 4 is a second digital camera and although this does not pack the same punch as that on the rear it is designed for use with the new FaceTime services. FaceTime is a video calling app which lets you chat with other iPhone 4 and iPod Touch users over a Wi-Fi connection as if you were face to face in the same room. Including this allows the iPhone 4 to catch up and overtake its rivals since it is more convenient and simple to use than previous video calling capabilities on mobile phones.
The world of the iPhone 4 is viewed via its 3.5 inch Retina Display. While the dimensions match that of its predecessors, the Retina Display has a much higher pixel density and a class-leading resolution of 960×640. This technical mumbo-jumbo basically identifies that the iPhone 4`s display is sharper and easier to use than any other on the market. Reading text, watching videos or viewing photos is all a joy and the internet is available in finer detail than ever before. Apps are also cleaner when viewed on the iPhone 4`s display.
The iPhone 4 runs Apple`s latest version of the iOS platform and it is backwards compatible with the hundreds of thousands of apps which can be downloaded free or for a small fee. Multitasking has been added to the third party apps with this updated operating system, making it easy to dive in and out of i Phone apps without losing your place. In short the iPhone 4 is not only the best mobile Apple has ever made but arguably the best in the world today.
